You have some really fantastic use of color here. I would have thought this was an abstract painting, but then I saw it was in the Stil...

The Killing Joke by SteamboatLyssie
The Killing Joke
I got a new book the other day about the Joker and his visual development since the comic books, and I was inspired to draw this! I wanted to do the Heath Ledger joker in the pose of "The Killing Joke" panel that is pretty well known. If you haven't read that comic, check it out, it's a good one!

Sketched with col-erase prismacolors (1 hour)
Painted in Photoshop (10ish hours)

As always, favorites and comments are appreciated!!
Sally by SteamboatLyssie
Sally was a fun one to draw/paint! I tried to give her more of my style, but hopefully it still comes across as a Tim Burton character. Enjoy!

Wow, it's been a while, huh? I am so sorry I have been out of touch!! No promises, but I am hoping to start up some Disney drawings again, beginning with Jack Skellington! Yes I know, not technically Disney, but they do own rights to it, so I'm counting it. Thanks for bearing with me, and as always, thanks for your support, I appreciate it!!

Three years later...

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 5, 2012, 10:12 AM
Well hello everyone. I haven't updated my journal in three years...yeah. Sorry about that. I figured I would give a brief update on a few things!
I graduated from DU, hooray! I got a B.A. in Electronic Media Arts and Design, earned distinction and university honors, and earned magna cumme laude. So that is exciting!
Now I am working in post-production. I do a lot of everything--I edit, I draw storyboards, provide graphics and motion graphics...etc! The company that hired me is very small (I am the third employee!) but it is fantastic.
I also work part time at the Disney store, because I want to keep my name in their books. I am still working towards an artistic career with Disney, as it remains my life time goal.
So yep, I feel like that covers the important stuff! As always, I appreciate everyone's support so much here on DA, it means a lot to me. So thank you, and have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
